We Will Handover A United NYCN In 2025, Says Suleiman, As He Accepts Apologies On Behalf Of Sukubo & 2 Others

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), the umbrella body of all the Youth organizations in Nigeria, has extended the hands of forgiveness and acceptance to some of the members of the National Executive Council (NEC) who formed parallel leadership in January, following the public apologies tendered by them.

The acceptance of the apologies was contained in a press statement made available to the press on Friday and signed by the Secretary General of NYCN, Comrade Abubakar Suleiman Esq, on behalf of the President of NYCN, Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo; the Deputy President, Amb. Innocent Nduanya; and the National Treasurer, Comrade Nnamdi Ezemagu.

It could be recalled that, a few days ago, seven out of the ten Comrades who formed a parallel leadership in January, tendered public apologies regarding the unsubstantiated allegations levelled against Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo – the President of NYCN; Amb. Innocent Nduanya – the Deputy President of NYCN; Comrade Abubakar Suleiman Esq – the Secretary General of NYCN; and Comrade Nnamdi Ezemagu – the National Treasurer of NYCN.

Responding to their public apologies, Comrade Suleiman Esq stated, “I wish to extend our hands of forgiveness to our fellow Comrades who have found it worthy to tender apologies for slandering our names and assassinating our characters via unfounded allegations”. He, however, urged the Youth to desist from making unverified allegations. “I wish to use this medium to advise my fellow Comrades to desist from making unverified, unsubstantiated and unfounded allegations, especially allegations that would tarnish the image of their fellow Comrades”.

Comrade Suleiman Esq stated that the court cases instituted against the Comrades will be withdrawn, except the ones instituted against Comrades Akoshile Mukhtar; Dotun Omoloye; and Zaka Nehemiah who are yet to tender their apologies. He further stated that NYCN will surely remain united under the leadership of Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo who is due to handover by September 2025. According to him, “Under our watch, NYCN must surely unite; the unity and indivisibility of this our noble organization, which is the umbrella body of all the Youth organizations in Nigeria, IS NON NEGOTIABLE!”

“APOLOGIES HEARTILY AND DULY ACCEPTED

“peace is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to cope with conflict by peaceful means”, opines Ronald Reagan.

“Life without differences is a mirage. Suffice it to say that, as long as life abounds there must be differences and misunderstandings, even among siblings. However, the ability to weather the storms and sort out our differences, amicably, is what makes us Patriots and stands us out.

“There is no gainsaying the fact that no organization thrives, and progresses developmentally, amidst crisis and conflicts. Peace is an invaluable catalyst that spurs progress and success. Peace is not the absence of conflicts and differences; peace is all about solving our differences through amicable means; through dialogue, forgiveness and exhibition of humane attributes.

“In the light of the above background, on behalf of the President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) – Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, and my brothers cum fellow NYCN NEC members: Amb. Innocent Nduanya – the Deputy President; Comrade Nnamdi Ezemagu – the National Treasurer, I wish to extend our hands of forgiveness to our fellow Comrades who have found it worthy to tender apologies for slandering our names and assassinating our characters via unfounded allegations. “To err is human, to forgive is divine”, says a popular aphorism. They have indeed erred but God has given us the grace and understanding to accept their apologies and forgive them, in the interest of the Youth Constituency in general and our noble organization – NYCN in particular.

“Thus, the below beloved Comrades: Smart Uwakwe; Agwuncha Izunna; Clinton Avwoke; Dangata Inuwa Ibrahim; Aminu Ubale Funtua; Garba Bashir; and Blessing Onne Okwe are hereby forgiven, wholeheartedly.

“The court case which was instituted ab initio, against the ten of them that slandered our personalities, will be coming up from Monday in Port Harcourt, Enugu, Lagos and FCT respectively. The names of the Comrades who have tendered their unreserved apologies will be officially withdrawn from the court cases, as the proceedings start. The remaining three Comrades; Akoshile Mukhtar; Dotun Omoloye; and Zaka Nehemiah, who have seen no reason to apologize to us for slandering our personalities and assassinating our characters in various media platforms, will have to answer the honorable courts as from Monday next week.

“Any other issues, concerning this matter, shall be discussed and sorted out at the forthcoming NEC meeting and National Management meeting, respectively.

“I wish to use this medium to advise my fellow Comrades to desist from making unverified, unsubstantiated and unfounded allegations, especially allegations that would tarnish the image of their fellow Comrades. Such actions come with severe consequences, as our law frowns at such actions that are capable of causing psychological and emotional havocs.

“May we continue to make patriotic efforts towards the unity of NYCN. I wish to assure us all that the current NEC, led by Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, will do everything within our capacity to handover a UNITED NYCN to the next set of the National Executive Council members, by September 2025. Under our watch, NYCN must surely unite; the unity and indivisibility of this our noble organization, which is the umbrella body of all the Youth organizations in Nigeria, IS NON NEGOTIABLE!

“May Nigeria Succeed!

“Long live NYCN!
Long live the Nigerian Youth Constituency!!
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!”
