As Nigerians prepare to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor in the forthcoming 2023 general election, many politicians, groups, and organizations have been campaigning, endorsing, and supporting different aspirants that cut across the various political parties and zones in the country.
With the Expectation and hopes that keeps growing among voters, a group under the auspices of the Northern Youth Coalition for Peter Obi, in collaboration with the Movement for Transparent Governance, drums support for the candidacy of the labour party presidential flag bearer, Peter Obi.
Peter Obi, who decamped from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Nigerian Labour Party, has been receiving recommendations and endorsements from Nigerian youth, women, and politicians who see his aspiration as an alternative to what Nigeria needs at this critical time.
However, the coalition which held its mega rally in Kaduna on Saturday claims that the rising insecurity, economic hardship, and the collapse of both the education and health sectors can be resolved within a short period if Peter Obi emerges victorious in the 2023 general election.
The group director-general, Jamilu Sufi, who addressed newsmen shortly after the event at Arewa House in Kaduna, noted that he’s optimistic Nigerians will vote for Peter Obi massively due to his track record as the Governor of Anambra state.
Sufi believes that the level of insecurity bedeviling parts of the country, especially the northwest zones, has clearly shown a failure in the current administration, which will make voters choose Peter Obi for his wealth of experience, who comes at the right time as a savior.
Many call us social media supporters without knowing our capacity at the grassroots. The majority of the Nigerian voters are the youth, and the youth are the engine room of our movement, while the women and elderly men always support us with prayer, motivation, and promises of votes.
Therefore, the 2023 election is about competency and credibility, ethnicity and religion have no room as Nigerians have chosen the right candidate, the workaholic Peter Obi, who will revive our economy, education, and health sectors, restore security, and create a conducive atmosphere that will enable job creation and a wide spread of wealth among Nigerians.
