Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-rufai, has praised Nigerian Breweries Plc for donating a five-block administrative police station in Kudenda, Kaduna State.

The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Business Innovation, Prof. Kabir Mato, disclosed that the company over the years has continued to reinvest its profit back into society through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) instead of sharing its entire profit amongst shareholders.

Speaking at the commissioning of the facility, Professor Mato commended the company for the starter kits distributed to women and youths during the skill acquisition training in Kaduna recently.

The commissioner urged other businesses in Kaduna to emulate the character of Nigerian Breweries Plc, especially in the area of corporate service responsibility.

He thanked the company for complementing the government’s efforts in some of its responsibilities, adding that society would continue to appreciate the goodwill of the company.

In his speech, the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna Command, CP Yekini Ayoku, said the Nigerian Breweries had replaced the apartment being rented as a police station since 1997 with a modern edifice.

He urged other companies to emulate the Nigerian Breweries plc, stressing that it would go a long way in reducing criminality in the area.

He, however, warned that the Nigerian police will not tolerate any form of attack on the facility or its personnel, stating that the station will be equipped with all the necessary gadgets.

Earlier, the Northern Regional Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr. Kabiru Kassim, commended the Kaduna State Government for creating an enabling environment for their business to thrive.

He said, “As a business, we have enjoyed a good relationship with the people of Kaduna State for the past 59 years.”

“We were awarded the best taxpayer organization.

In our effort to support the Kaduna State government, we introduced Maltina School games, Ramadan recitation quiz, and Maltina Teacher’s Award, among others. Kassim said.

The production manager of Kudenda, Mr. Olusoji Onigbinde, also in his remarks, said the Nigerian breweries have lasted this long following the support they receive from their host communities.

This is why we will not relent in supporting the Kaduna state government and its agencies when the need arises.

Part of our corporate service responsibility in Kaduna State includes supporting the government by donating the sum of 20 million Naira in cash as COVID 19 intervention; donation of an accident and emergency unit at Gwamna Awan hospital, Kakuri; and a VVF ward at Gambo Sawaba Hospital, Zaria, among others.

Daily Episode reports that the police station has five administrative offices, four toilets, and one bathroom, as well as one cell each for male and female criminals.
